Zero-11 OUTREACH offers help to families experiencing
stressful or difficult times. The scheme helps children
aged zero to 11, with difficulties including:
| • |
Parenting issues + Children’s safety issues |
| • |
Behaviour problems + special needs, |
| • |
School non-attendance + Relationship difficulties, |
| • |
Financial or housing issues + access to health
services. |
Outreach has been available in Stakes, Waterlooville,
Hayling Island and Petersfield, due to Hampshire Children’s
Fund and East Hampshire Primary Care Trust. In the first
year Zero-11 Outreach has worked with 17 local families
supported by Health Visitors, and Community Family Workers.
Children look forward to visits from the community
family worker, with whom they build up a special relationship,
often taking part in visits to the park or the coast,
craft or play sessions at home and out of school activities.
Parents are offered: support and advice on many aspects
of parenting, practical help in getting out, help in
accessing health, education or other services and a
listening ear for the problems of the week. This support
aims to enable children to enjoy more confident, competent
and relaxed parents.
