You don’t have to be in a wheelchair to be
disabled…
Successful Inclusion depends on all children being
valued by themselves, their friends, and everyone around
them…
The Same Difference is a focused programme creating
supportive and co-operative learning environments for
children and young people to manage and express their
feelings appropriately.
The Hampshire scheme uses modern media and creative
learning techniques:
| • |
Drama workshops |
| • |
Group sessions |
| • |
One-to-one work |
Same Difference is about:
| • |
encouraging peer support |
| • |
acceptance of differences |
| • |
tackles issues of bullying |
| • |
including children with hidden disabilities |
Helping children and young people to feel part of something
that includes them and gives them a platform to express
their feelings.

Same Difference has reached 40,000 Hampshire children
since 2001 A £20,000 grant from the Hampshire
Children’s Fund helped fund 12,000 children to
take part in interactive workshops in 2003...
Schools think it’s brilliant and want much, much
more of it to assist them with their inclusion work.
Young people like it so much, they are getting in on
the act, and helping the ‘Same Difference’
become part of their own curriculum. |
