Participation:
Hampshire Children's Fund are working with partners
from the public, private, voluntary sector and with
local partnership groups to involve children and their
families in tailoring services to meet the needs of
children and young people aged 5-13 years.
We are currently delivering projects across Hampshire
that support children's services in target areas where
families are disadvantaged/socially excluded.

Communication
We are currently developing the Hampshire Children's
Fund website and your feedback is very welcome. Please
send your recommended links to sites that we can link
to Hampshire County Council's service directory and
website during 2004/5.
Consultation with local children and young people suggest
that children are looking for the following elements
in a website:
| • |
Colourful |
| • |
Easy to read |
| • |
Large writing |
| • |
Cartoons |
| • |
Pictures |
| • |
Competitions and Games |
| • |
Text facilities |
| • |
Downloads |
| • |
Local info |
| • |
Useful links |
At present, we are planning a website that has the
following facilities:
An information page for each theme area, including
an overview of the services offered, referral and contact
details
A project showcase that children's groups can take
turns to update – we also want to make the whole
website accessible for children as well as adults, which
means making it:
| • |
simple to use, colourful and easy to read |
| • |
Calendar of events and regular updates |
| • |
Opportunities to comment and share ideas |
| • |
Links to local agencies + children's sites |
The new site should be online by September and then
will become a work in progress involving Hampshire young
people at various projects and Schools for the rest
of the Children's Fund scheme.
